How it works if you're over 18

If you're over 18, before you climb at boulders you'll have to complete a registration form.  It's the standard form recommended by the Association of British Climbing Walls (ABC) and asks you to self declare your competance (i.e you know how to tie in , how to belay safely and do up your own harness). Once this form is completed you are able to use the facilities without supervision.

A registered climber is able to sign in 2 novice climbers to be under their supervision at all times. To sign in novices a 'supervision' form must be completed upon arrival at boulders . Please note that once a competent climber signs in a novice , the competent climber must not be belayed by the novice.

If you're just starting out then you need to get some instruction before you can complete the form.  We can do this for you and recommend that you attend one of our Introduction to Climbing Courses.  All our instructors are qualified by the sport's National Governing Body - The Mountain Leader Training Board (MLTB) and have years of instructional experience between them. Deposits for booked activities are non refundable 1 week prior to the start of the booked activity (6 days for weekly U18 activities).

If you're in any doubt what so ever as to your competence you should seek further guidance from one of our instructors.  We can easily arrange for a quick top up refresher lesson!

Once you're registered as an "unsupervised climber" you'll be able to sign in two novices or two under 18s.
