Squad Ages 8 to 10 and 11 to 13
Boulders Indoor Climbing Centre is always on the lookout for talented climbers to bring into The Academy. It's Boulders way of investing in talented young climbers and nurturing the next generation of athletes. Young people invited to join The Academy will have the opportunity to receive weekly coaching from Boulders' top climbing coaches.
We're always on the look out for new talent in the
Spider Monkeys',
Geckos' and
Junior Project Climbing Clubs, if you're spotted you will be invited to attend the Academy selection. All members of the squads will be encouraged to participate in competition climbing, which means travelling and climbing with the
Boulders' Climbing Team all round the UK!
Access to the Boulders' Academy and Boulders' Climbing Team is through selection only. Reviews are conducted three times a year, at the start of academic terms, for re-selection. Previously being a member of the Academy or Team does not entitle members to automatic qualification at a review point.
There is a nominal fee of £30 per person, per academic term to be a member of Boulders' Academy or Team. There are 4 Academy squads; Ages 8-10, 11-13 (9 squad members in each), 14-16 and 17+ (12 squad members in each). The Team consists of up to 12 squad members and is open to people aged 17+. The Academies and Team are coached once a week, there are 9 coaching sessions in every academic term. See the coaching dates below for the published training dates.
Due to the competitive nature of the Academy and Team all members and spectators are required to adhere to a sporting and coaching code of conduct:
