Spider Monkeys' Climbing Club (ages 7+)
The Kid's Climbing Club, at Boulders Indoor Climbing Centre, is known as the Spider Monkeys. Which is where all the cool kids go to improve their climbing skills after they have completed their Learn To Climb course.
The Spider Monkeys' Climbing Club is a fun and social club that aims to give children the opportunity to develop through climbing.
Spider Monkeys' will learn all sorts of important skills such as:
- Team work & communication
- Rope skills & basic safety
- Advanced belaying, how to warm up & climbing technique
When you begin the Spider Monkeys' Climbing Club you will already have your NICAS Level 1 and will be ready for your NICAS level 2 which you will continue to work towards completing on a week by week basis. Level 2 should take you a bit longer to complete than the 8 week learn to climb course as it's a little more advanced!
Once you have completed the level 2 course you will gain a certificate and it is time to move on to NICAS level 3 and be given a new folder. This is where the things get really exciting as you start working towards the next award. The level 3 logbook* has a lot of great tasks to complete and includes watching a climbing film and completing boulder problems!

What's Next:
Once you have completed your NICAS level 3 and have received your new certificate, it is time to start thinking about taking the next step and joining the lead climbers in the Geckos' Climbing Club! But before you move on you will have to participate in the Spider Monkeys' Graduation Day! (fees apply)
The Spider Monkeys' graduation day is designed to give you and your parents an insight in to the Geckos' Climbing Club where you will be taking part in a wide range of activities including lead climbing. The graduation day will help you prepare for the Gecko's Climbing Club and ensure you're ready to take the next step!
Boulders recommends children do not progress onto the Geckos' Climbing Club until they are aged 10 years or older.

All sessions are conducted by one or more of Boulders' qualified members of staff who have been CRB checked, qualified by the sport's National Award Giving Body, The MLTB(UK) and proficient in climbing coaching.
*Prices for all lessons using the NICAS syllabus do not include the logbooks. These are supplied direct from the not for profit organisation NICAS.
Brothers and sisters too young to join in the fun?!
Don't worry they can play in Pebbles...
Pebbles is Boulders' climbing adventure play area for children from pre-school to 7-years.
Under 7s participating in climbing lessons may play in Pebbles after their lesson.
The cost is £3:50 per child for unlimited play and it's free for an accompanying adult.
