Simon has been a coach for many years, working as a Mountain Instructor, but over the past 5 years he has channelled his energies towards '
Performance Coaching’. He takes particular pride in showing climbers what a little dedication and hard work can really achieve!
His clients range from young climbers competing for Team GB, to individuals wanting to push their grade past their current boundaries.
He is an incredibly talented all-round climber with significant ascents on both rock and ice. His enthusiasm toward coaching is matched only by his desire to achieve the illusive perfect climb.
The love of the outdoor was fostered during days out hill walking at an early age. Simon become more adventurous quickly and ventured onto the rock outcrops found in the Peak District. Since these early beginnings Simon has climbed in a range of different styles across the world. He is equally at home on Ice as he is clipping bolts in Spain.
Over 20years of climbing has lead to Simon reaching a very high standard with Fr8a onsight's and FAs of many routes up to F8b. He shares his climbing passion with a love of photography and many of his striking images can be found in galleries across Wales.
In 2011 Simon is hoping to take his climbing forward with some more difficult FAs and maybe even his first Fr8c.

Over the past few years Paul has heavily influenced the path of many young climbers. He ensures they receive coaching and identifies high level competitions for them to enter.
An experienced coach and sports scientist with a strange affliction for all things slopey. His knowledge of the theory effortlessly translates into practice, whilst his no-nonsense approach to training ensures you get the results you want.
Although Paul does admit to 'being a trad climber at heart', it is bouldering where his strengths as a gymnast shine. He has conquered consistent V7 onsights and harder ascents up to V10.
A keen competition climber, he is familiar with keeping calm under pressure and thrives on on-sighting.
For the first few years of his climbing career, Paul was often found bumbling around on local trad at Pembroke and the Gower. It wasn't until he became a rock climbing instructor that his desire to improve truly took shape. It was the combination of a background in gymnastics and a sports science degree that led him down the path of
Performance Coaching, where he is undoubtedly at home! Over the coming year Paul hopes achieve some personal goals by climbing both fr8a and font 8a.
